etapas. Na primeira etapa foram realizadas an{\'a}lises
estat{\'{\i}}sticas da varia{\c{c}}{\~a}o da temperatura do ar
pr{\'o}ximo {\`a} superf{\'{\i}}cie em diferentes regi{\~o}es
terrestre. O estudo foi realizado considerando a poss{\'{\i}}vel
influ{\^e}ncia da ioniza{\c{c}}{\~a}o atmosf{\'e}rica
GCR na temperatura do ar pr{\'o}xima {\`a} superf{\'{\i}}cie.
superf{\'{\i}}cie adquiridos da Administra{\c{c}}{\~a}o
Nacional Atmosf{\'e}rica Oce{\^a}nica (NOAA) / Sum{\'a}rio
Di{\'a}rio Global da Superf{\'{\i}}cie (GSOD), de dez
- 300, 400 - 500 e 600 - 700), dispon{\'{\i}}vel em
https://data.noaa.gov/dataset/global-surface-summary-of-the-day-gsod.
equivalentes per{\'{\i}}odos sem FDs (durante m{\'{\i}}nimo
Student.
atmosf{\'e}ricos. Foi poss{\'{\i}}vel notar no Hemisf{\'e}rio
A partir desses resultados
part{\'{\i}}culas, modulada pela atividade x magn{\'e}tica
superf{\'{\i}}cie terrestre e da superf{\'{\i}}cie do oceano.
superf{\'{\i}}cie-oceano de diversas faixas latitudinais do
globo (m{\'e}dia Global, m{\'e}dia do Hemisf{\'e}rio Norte,
m{\'e}dia do Hemisf{\'e}rio Sul, 240 N - 240 S, 240 N - 440 N,
440 N - 640 N, 640 N - 900 N, 240 S - 440 S, 440 S - 640 S, 640 S
SOI (Southern Oscilation Index - {\'{\I}}ndice de
investigar qualquer influ{\^e}ncia no clima.
an{\'a}lise estat{\'{\i}}stica de correla{\c{c}}{\~a}o
temperatura da superf{\'{\i}}cie / superf{\'{\i}}cie - oceano
dados do Hemisf{\'e}rio Norte e do Hemisf{\'e}rio Sul,
refor{\c{c}}ando a ideia dos efeitos regionais. As periodicidades
temperatura.
temperatura. Com todas as an{\'a}lises e resultados aqui
completo dessa rela{\c{c}}{\~a}o, levando {\`a}
ABSTRACT: This
Doctorade Thesis presents a study about the possible effects of
Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCR) flux variation on the atmospheric
parameters, like the Earth's surface temperature, in different
latitudinal ranges and time scales. In order to conduct, the work
was performed in two phases. In the first one statistical analyzes
of near ground air temperature variation in different latitudinal
ranges (low, medium and high) in a short time scale were done
during periods with decreases of atmospheric ionization induced by
GCR on the Earths troposphere. These GCR flux reductions are
called Forbush Decreases (FD). They are mainly caused by
Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections (ICMEs) deflection of GCR
around Earth's orbit. This work was performed considering the
possible influence of the cosmogenic atmospheric ionization on the
water vapor condensation patterns (link GCR cloud condensation
nuclei) as the main hypothesis to be tested. The superposed epoch
analysis around the ten strongest FD events occurred between 1987
and 2015 was used to analyze the possible effects on the daily air
surface temperature. The GCR data were collected from Oulu neutron
monitor (cosmicrays.oulu.fi), and daily air surface temperature
data were obtained from National Oceanic Atmospheric
Administration (NOAA) / Global Surface Summary of the Day (GSOD),
of ten meteorological stations of three latitudinal ranges of
Northern and Southern Hemispheres (200 - 300, 400 - 500 and 600 -
700), found in
(https://data.noaa.gov/dataset/global-surface-summary-of-the-day-gsod).
It was investigated here the variation of the daily air surface
temperature mean during FD for each one of the three latitudinal
ranges (low, medium and high). The possible climatic effects of
GCR decrease were investigated using linear and cross correlation
methods. A comparison between the daily air surface temperature
averages during FD events periods and equivalent periods without
FDs (during solar minima years of 1987, 1996 and 2008) was also
performed and its statistical signaificance was analyzes by
Student's t test. Some results for the Northern Hemisphere, in
this first phase, showed a latitudinal dependence of the induced
ionization by GCR on the atmospheric parameters. It was possible
to note the anti correlation between the air surface temperature
mean and the GCR flux, increasing from low to high latitudes.
However, for the Southern Hemisphere, the anti correlation between
those data was only found for the high and medium latitudes, also
with a poleward increase. From these results it seems that the
possible FD effect on climate/weather is more prominent in the
Northern Hemisphere and that there are increases with latitude. In
the second phase, it was performed a long time scale study related
xii to the possible GCR effects and consequently to the solar
activity variability effects on the Earth's surface and ocean
temperature. For these analyzes were adquired Rz, F10.7 and GCR
data, and surface and surface - ocean temperature anomaly from
several global latitudinal ranges (Global medium, Northern
Hemisphere average, Southern Hemisphere average, 240 N - 240 S,
240 N - 440 N, 440 N - 640 N, 640 N - 900 N, 240 S - 440 S, 440 S
- 640 S, 640 S - 900 S). It was also adquired SOI (Southern
Oscilation Index - {\'{\I}}ndice de Oscila{\c{c}}{\~a}o Sul)
and stratopheric QBO (Quasi Biennial Oscillation) data on the
pressure levels 30 hPa, 50 hPa and 70 hPa to investigate any
influence on the climate. To the analyzes of the results obtained
in this second phase, it was used Meyer wavelet and after the
Iterative Regression Analysis methods to found the periodicities
more evidents in all decomposed bands. Other statistical methods
were used like cross correlation. The results showed a positive
relation between the surface temperature / surface - ocean
temperature and the solar activity, and a anti correlation with
the GCR flux, better for the 22 cycle. In this analyzes, like in
the short time scale analyzes, some differences were seen between
the results from Northern and Southern Hemispheres, suggesting the
regional effects. The periodicities related to the solar cycles
(11 and 22 years), to the El Niņo Southern Oscillation (ENSO) from
2 to 7 anos and to the stratospheric QBO (2 - 3 anos) were found
on the temperatute anomaly data. The amplitude of 22 years of the
solar activity was more evident than the 11 years amplitude and
than others signals of the temperature anomaly spectral analyzes.
With all analyzes and results here present, it was possible to see
a complex climatic relation with factors that vary on the time and
space. These factors can influence on the Earth climate / weather
according a regional place and a time scale studied. However, it
is necessary a constant investigation to a full understanding of
this relation to better understand how had occured the evolution
of the life on the Earth. This understanding will help too the
forecast of extreme climatic situations of which the consequences,
that interfere directly in all life forms, can be at least
minimized.",
